David Leebron
Rice University

David W. Leebron has been the seventh president of Rice University since 2004, he is also professor of political science. He graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College and magna cum laude from Harvard Law School. Leebron served as a clerk to Judge Shirley Hufstedler on the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. After Judge Hufstedler was appointed Secretary of Education, Leebron was an acting assistant professor of law at UCLA School of Law.  He was on the faculty of New York University School of Law, where he also served as Director of the International Legal Studies Program. Leebron has also served on the faculty of Columbia University School of Law, and in 1996 he was appointed Dean and Lucy G. Moses Professor of Law.
