Portrait of the World Workshops 




The World Affairs Council of Houston is pleased to announce Chevron’s Portrait of the World workshops for educators.  Planned workshops for the 2010-2011 year include:

February 2011 The Stans (Central Asia)


These professional development workshops give teachers classroom-ready information on historical and current economic, political, and cultural issues of the country. Teachers receive six Gifted and Talented credit hours as well as instructional resources and lesson plans. The content and curriculum provided is useful for secondary and college level students. Last year, Chevron sponsored full-day workshops on Mexico, China, Argentina, and West Africa.

The State Board of Educator Certification has approved the World Affairs Council to furnish Continuing Professional Education to teachers.  The Council is CPE 501096. We are not permitted to duplicate G/T certificates. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.
