Great Decisions

Every day, everywhere in the world, events take place that affect our lives.  Movement across boundaries -- of people, money, ideas, threats, and opportunities are increasing more than ever before.

Participation in a Great Decisions group will give you information and discussion for a round perspective.

Great Decisions is furnished by the Foreign Policy Association.  It is a non-partisan citizen education effort, bringing people together in small groups to discuss issues of current importance.

Great Decisions briefing books supply balanced information on the eight topics chosen for each season.  The readings and discussion allow you to go behind the headlines to learn about the challenges facing us and our world, while enjoying friendship and conversation.

Interested in joining a group?
The World Affairs Council will sponsor at least one new group year, beginning in late January. Watch our newsletter for more details.

Interested in starting your own group?

Great Decisions topics for the new season will be announced soon. Briefing books are printed and available in mid-January.

"Our lives are increasingly affected by global affairs. We may differ on policies, but the United States needs to be engaged in a thoughtful way as the issues are vital to our future. The World Affairs Council system is dedicated to non-partisan public education on world affairs and I urge you to participate in its important work."
George Bush, 41st President of the United States
